Would You Like To:

  • Discover why the Swiss consume the most chocolate in the world, just under 20 pounds per person per year, and see how the infinite varieties of Swiss chocolate are made? You will, but first call and warn your dentist, for the area around Montreux is ground zero for the world’s finest chocolate makers.
  • Hike in or visit the most scenic vistas in the world? You may, as the alpine mountains around Montreux beckon hikers, photographers, and dreamers.
  • Walk like Charlie Chaplin? You can learn how to at Charlie Chaplin’s World, a museum dedicated to one of Montreux’s most famous residents. And then practice that walk with his statue located on the Lake Geneva Promenade.
  • Stroll hand in hand under the stars with someone you love on one of Europe’s most beautiful Promenades? Well, you’ll always have Montreux (with apologies to Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman).
  • Tip a glass of some of the world’s finest vintage wines in the hills and vineyards of the Swiss Lavaux surrounding and overlooking Montreux . . . so scenic and historic that it has been designated a World Heritage Site?  You need not be a wine connoisseur to discover the quality of Swiss wines, some of which are bottled by the oldest vintners in Europe.
