  A native of downstate Illinois, Stephen joined Ellis & Winters in 2005 from Bryan Cave LLP in St. Louis. He also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Pasco M. Bowman II on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Mr. Feldman has served as a leader in the complex business litigation bar, both locally and nationally. In addition to his work in the FDCC, Mr. Feldman is a member of the leadership of the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation (where he chairs the ABA Appellate Practice Committee) and Section of Antitrust Law. In North Carolina, Mr. Feldman has served as vice-chair of a committee appointed by the North Carolina Business Court to review and revise the Business Court Rules. He has been appointed as well to leadership roles with the North Carolina Bar Association’s Antitrust & Complex Business Disputes and Appellate Practice sections. Mr. Feldman has been recognized by Chambers USA and Benchmark Litigation, in North Carolina Super Lawyers Magazine, and by Business North Carolina magazine’s Legal Elite. His Martindale-Hubbell rating is AV. Mr. Feldman earned his undergraduate degree in economics and finance from Washington University in St. Louis. In college, Mr. Feldman worked with a St. Louis civic group, chaired by former United States Senator and Ambassador John Danforth, to successfully lobby the Missouri and Illinois legislatures to create a region-wide parks and trails network. Mr. Feldman taught courses during college in biblical Hebrew to elementary and middle school students in St. Louis. Mr. Feldman lives in Raleigh with his wife, Leah Friedman, their two children, and their dog Sage. Until recently, they raised eight chickens in their backyard chicken coop.
