  H. Mills Gallivan is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of South Carolina School of Law. He has over 41 years of experience as an advocate in cases involving personal injury, administrative law, business and commercial litigation. His current practice focuses on Alternative Dispute Resolution, early neutral evaluation, persuasion strategy and service as a Special Referee. Mr. Gallivan is admitted to practice in the state of South Carolina, U. S. District Court for South Carolina, U. S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, Past Chair of the SC Bar Dispute Resolution Council (2016/2017),the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association (President 2002/2003), the Defense Research Institute, the Lawyers for Civil Justice, The National Foundation for Judicial Excellence (President 2012/2013) and the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (President 2016/2017). His honors include perennial selection by South Carolina Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. In 2010, Mr. Gallivan was presented the prestigious Robert W. Hemphill Award by the SC Defense Trial Attorneys Association in recognition of his outstanding service to his community and the defense bar.

Mills and Carol Anne have been married 44 years and are the proud parents of threechildren, Anne Genevieve Gallivan, Henry M. Gallivan, Jr. and Harriet Gallivan Hoffman. They are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren. Mills and Carol Anne enjoy travelling, photography, scuba diving, snow skiing and fly fishing.
