Sonia Bjorkquist recently became the President of The Advocates Society.

Sonia Bjorkquist, Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, LLP, Toronto, Ontario, Canada recently became the President of The Advocates Society. The Advocates’ Society is a not-for-profit association composed of more than 5,500 advocates across Canada. It was established in 1963 to ensure the presence of a courageous and independent bar, and the maintenance of the role of the advocate in the administration of justice. As Canada’s premier provider of advocacy skills training, it offers more than 100 civil, administrative, family, criminal and special litigation programs. Before becoming President, Sonia was Vice President and also an active member of the Board of Directors of the Advocates’ Society. Sonia is the National Chair of Osler’s Litigation Practice Group and maintains an active practice in product liability, food products, medical device and pharmaceuticals, and in international commercial arbitration.
